Nigeria’s House of Representatives members of the opposition party and it’s cactus has, again, called for the impeachment of the President, Muhammadu Buhari noting it’s reasons to be over the abduction of over 300 schoolboys in Kankara, Katsina State.

The caucus had recently urged Nigerians to prevail on the National Assembly to begin an impeachment process against Buhari over the killing of 43 rice farmers by Boko Haram in Borno State.

Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Publicity, had dismissed the call as an unpopular opinion of only the factional opposition leader, Kingsley Chinda.

But at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Chinda restated the call for the impeachment of the President over the growing insecurity in the country.

Meanwhile, Supporters of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, on Thursday, staged a peaceful protest in front of the party’s Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, to demand the safe return of over 300 school children.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief Uche Secondus. who led the protesters said the party like most Nigerians were traumatised by the callous action of the criminals who abducted the children.

Secondus said, “This is a peaceful protest to make the entire country and international community to be aware of what is going on in our country.

“And all we’re saying is that Buhari, bring back our boys from Katsina. It is important, we are in pain, the parents are in pain, the entire country is in pain, we’re in agony, we are in sorrow.

“It is high time for the government of the day, the APC government to bring back our boys from Katsina.

“That is the bold statement by PDP today with this peaceful protest.”

The school children were abducted by terrorists from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, in Katsina State, close to a week ago.
