I threw a challenge at former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s Spokesman, Onyebuchi Ememanka yesterday over the Boys Technical College Aba and other schools being reconstructed by the Alex Otti led-government, which he falsely claimed are being reconstructed by the World Bank.
The first time I shared the pictures of the ongoing reconstruction work at BTC, Afara Technical and others, was after Ememanka challenged me to show any pictures of such reconstruction following a post i made concerning the activities of the government in the education sector.
Immediately I showed pictures, he turned around to claim that those schools were being done by the World Bank under the IDEAS project.
Yesterday, Ememanka boldly repeated the same false claim, prompting me to challenge him to provide any evidence to substantiate his claims. I offered to pay for airtime for an appearance on any media station to discuss the subject matter and other issues thereof. He is yet to respond.
Having failed to respond to my challenge over 24 hours after, I now wish to state as follows:
- That it’s either Ikpeazu’s Spokesman is ignorant of how the World Bank IDEAS programme works, because of the failure of hie principal to do anything in that area when he was Governor, thus denying him the first hand Knowledge and information he would have garnered and gathered, or he was being intentionally dishonest over the issue so as to continually present Governor Otti as a failure, against the reality on ground.
- Every single job of reconstruction done so far in those schools are being discussed were done by Abia State Government, and has nothing to do with the World Bank. We have our facts intact, and such facts have not been disputed by anyone except him.
- Ikpeazu’s Spokesman doesn’t know that the IDEAS project has a State Government Component which requires the state to carry out comprehensive reconstruction and retrofitting work, while World Bank will only equip the Laboratories if they so wish.
Like I had stated earlier, we would continue to pay attention to genuine observations and criticisms coming from honest Abians who are sincerely desirous of good governance, however, we will not succumb or submit to the mischievous dictates and false narratives of those who may want to hide under the umbrella of opposition or good governance advocacy to misrepresent the government and mislead the public like Ememanka tried to do.
Abians have ears and eyes, and have heard, seen and felt the visible truth of good governance in their state, hence the ovation of support and solidarity wherever their Governor goes, sadly, the broken Old Abia Opposition elements desperately wish that Governor Otti would fail so that they would gladly get an ally of mediocrity, and therefore stand a chance of returning to power to continue their administrative brigandage that suffocated our democracy and arrested our economic growth.
May Governor Alex Otti Continue to Succeed.
