The National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved waivers for new members of the party.

The new decision of the party will now allow new members of the party contest in the primary election ahead of 2023 general election.

Thus, Automatically, the new members of the party won’t need to wait for two years before approved as enshrined in the party’s constitution.

The APC NEC meeting was held on Tuesday, at the State House in Abuja and was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

As part of the meeting,the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was asked to stop “politicizing” insecurity in Nigeria rather urged the opposition party and all stakeholders to join hands with the federal government to end the challenge.

Those who attended the party were: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila; Chairman, Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe Governor, Mai Mala Buni; governors and some party officials.

As part of the resolutions in the meeting, all party structures at states, polling units, wards, local governments, and zones was dissolved while six months extension of tenure of the Buni-led Caretaker Committee was approved.
