His Imperial Majesty Eze Dr. Isaac Ajuonu Ikonne (MON), the Enyi 1 of Aba, has conferred chieftaincy titles on notable radio personalities in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the media and society.

The event held on Monday in Aba attracted journalists from several media houses, including Real FM, Magic FM, Legend FM, Buzz FM, Obioma FM, and Sun FM, who used the occasion to pay homage and celebrate his 96th birthday.

Among the honorees was Michael Oni of Enyimba FM, who received the title Onu na-ekwuru Ọha 1 of Aba (The Mouthpiece of the People 1 of Aba). Agụ Kalu Okemini, popularly known as Bros Tata of Legend FM, was named Olu ndi Aba 1 (The Voice of Aba 1), while Vivian Nwaeze of Magic FM, affectionately called Aunty Vivi, was conferred the title Ada Eji Aga Mba 1 (A Daughter Worthy of a Journey).

Samuel Ejima Tologari, known as Pastor Metu of Magic FM, was honored as Odozi Obodo 1 (The Community Builder 1), and Chief Tony Agbanyim of Magic FM, previously recognized by the monarch, was elevated to High Chief with the title Ogele 1 (The Herald 1).

Speaking at the ceremony, Eze Ikonne described the honorees as ambassadors of truth and accountability, whose voices have significantly shaped public opinion and fostered community development.

He praised their commitment to promoting good governance and speaking truth to power, urging political leaders to embrace constructive criticism rather than antagonizing the media.

The honorees expressed deep gratitude to the monarch for the recognition, pledging to remain steadfast in their duties as journalists and advocates for societal growth.

Michael Oni described the recognition as a call to greater service, while others echoed their commitment to upholding professionalism in their field.

Eze Ikonne a first-class traditional ruler and a respected elder statesman, reaffirmed the importance of media practitioners in promoting peace, development, and accountability.
