Armed men on uniform was reported to have abducted a former gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress in Imo State and Rochas Okorocha’s son in law, Uche Nwosu.
Candidreporters.com gathered that Nwosu picked up by gunmen in military uniform at St. Peter’s Angelican Church Eziam Obire, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
The incident happened during the outing service of his late mother.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen stormed the church with a military van firing live bullets in the air.
His security details were said to have watched helplessly while the incident lasted.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Imo Police Command Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam, confirmed Nwosu was in their custody.
The Chief Superintendent said the announcement was to allay fears about his Nwosu’s whereabouts.
Abattam further appealed to the general public “to always shun fake news”.
