Hon Chinasa Pays Tribute to Dr Okidi as Trailblazing Deputy Controller of Federal Fire Service

The Chief Liaison Officer of Abia State, Abuja, Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, has lauded the outstanding professionalism, unwavering dedication, and remarkable resilience of Dr. Ijeoma Okidi, who has made history as the first female Deputy Controller of the Federal Fire Service.

Speaking at the ceremony marking Dr. Okidi’s formal decoration with her new rank, Hon. Chinasa described her as “a true Ambassador of the Abia spirit and a trailblazer who has broken barriers to pave the way for others.”

Hon. Chinasa extolled Dr. Okidi’s exceptional qualities, praising her “diligence, dedication, hard work, and service excellence even in a male-dominated career.” He urged the newly promoted Deputy Controller to continue exemplifying the values of patriotism, service, and integrity, while using her new office to project the egalitarian spirit of the Abia people.

The ceremony,which held at the Headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Abuja, witnessed the official decoration of newly promoted senior officers across the nation’s four paramilitary agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS).

Hon. Chinasa emphasized that Dr. Okidi’s historic elevation represents a beacon of inspiration to the youths, especially females, affirming that excellence knows no gender. He urged her to continue making Abia State proud.

The event was attended by top government officials, including Hon.Chukwunenye Alajemba, Special Assistant on Homeland Security, who represented Governor Dr Alex Otti, Hon. Ibe Okwara, Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly and Hon. Eme Odinakachi, Senior Special Assistant on Multilateral/Donor Agencies.
