The thank-you rally held in Aba on Monday over the bye-election victory of Chimobi Iheanyichukwu Ebisike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has welcomed demands from the party faithfuls.

A PDP loyalist and Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on General Duties, Erondu Uchenna Erondu has demanded an unreserved apology from Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over claims of roads projects said to be done by governor Okezie Ikpeazu of the State.

The Aba North/South bye-election was held on Saturday to replace the vacant seat of Late Hon. Ossy Prestige who died after battled illness.

The winner of the election was declared on Sunday morning.

The claim of the ongoing road projects has been one of the major debating issue used by the All Progressive Congress during party campaign.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of the All progressive Congress, while campaigning for his younger brother, Mascot Orji Uzor Kalu who was a candidate of the APC during the just concluded bye-election, claimed that the road projects of the state were done by the federal government.

The thank-you rally started at Obikabia junction and was moved to Aba south local government secretariat where the party stakeholders addressed the crowd and also moved to other parts of Aba.

While addressing the crowd, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on General Duties, Erondu Uchenna Erondu spoke on the claim by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over road projects in Aba and demanded paper work for the claimed federal government project.

His words: ” Orji Uzor Kalu said all the roads done in Aba is done by NDDC, I challenge him today, let him present the contract award letters he promised us .

“He said within one week, he will present the contract papers, failure to do that, he should tender apology to the government and people of Abia state, if not, we will give him a run, we will chase him out of Abia state, we will declare him personal non-granta to Igbere, in Abia north, in Abia Central, and Abia South.”

Hon. Ginger Onwusibe in his speech also pointed out that the people who trooped out en manse were not rented.

His words: “This is not a rented crowd, today, our people have come together, Abia have come together, not to cry after a situation but rather a situation in a situation where a leader is making a statement that is very deceptive. Campaign should be what it is, truth should be what it is , and truth above all is the only thing that can save our nation.”
