Enyimba FM/TV Correspondent Speaks on Pending Feud With Assembly Staff, How He Was Reportedly Sent Out From Covering Beat

Enyimba Fm and TV Reporter Kingsley Chibuike was on Thursday reportedly walked out of a press briefing by Mr. Henry Maduike, secretary house committee on information in the Abia State House of Assembly.

In a chat with Kingsley about the incident, he said he was present at the House of Assembly complex like every other journalist before he was asked to leave.

In his words; “I didn’t get the invite but I was told it was sent but didn’t deliver in my phone as the message was shown to me. Other journalists present had similar complaint. Mr Henry was with the Chief press secretary to the speaker as they both affirmed that the order for me to leave the press conference was from above.

Asking further is he had any pending issues with anyone before now, he said; “I had issues with Mr. Henry maduka before now when we went for Isuikwato road flag off. I went to greet him like every other of my colleagues did, but he ignored shaking my hand.

“It was at the House of Assembly today that Mr. Henry told me that I informed the member representing Isuikwato in the Abia State House that I said I’m the only certified correspondent to report activities of the Abia House of Assembly. I told him no, I never said so. It was then visitors interrupted the conversation.

Asking further if the speaker of Abia State House of Assembly gave the instruction for him to be sent out of the press briefing, the Eyimba Radio and TV correspondent said, Mr. Henry said the order is from above.

The press conference which took place at the conference hall of the Abia State House of Assembly, had in attendance the Speaker, Deputy Speaker of the house, the Assembly liaison to the Governor of Abia State, Members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, Journalists from different Media houses, amongst others.

Calls pulled through to Mr. Henry Maduike proves abortive as at the time our correspondent filed in this report.
