The Governors gave a mandated for a five-week closure of schools for the Ramadan fast. The Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Ahmad in a statement on Wednesday said “There is no religious basis for shutting down schools during Ramadan. The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued an arrest warrant for Justice Adolphus Enebeli (Retd.), the Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), and four other commissioners following their failure to appear before the Assembly.
