The Dangote Petroleum Refinery says it has temporarily halted the sale of petroleum products in naira following the failure of the Federal Government to renew the crude-for-Naira deal, the company had with NNPC Limited. The refinery announced the decision in a statement on Wednesday. The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has faulted the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu. The legal body described the president’s decision as “unconstitutional” and dangerous for Nigeria’s democracy.
