Asake, has finally opened up about his recent transformation on his looks which has been making headlines.

Last month, the the Nigerian Afrobeats sensation singer unveiled a new appearance showcasing face tattoos and a drastically different hairstyle, which was noticeably shorter than his signature dreadlocks.

His appearance left many fans worried and wondering what inspired the transformation.

In an interview on the red carpet of the 2025 Grammy Awards, Asake said his desire for comfort and self-expression is responsible for his transformation.

The singer said he is all about feeling comfortable in his skin. He added that his current look is a personal choice that might change at any time

“This is how I feel now. I love to feel comfortable in my look, do things that I feel are good for me,” he said.

“This is not about anybody. This is how I feel now. I might wake up tomorrow and you will not see any tattoos on my face.”
