Divisional Police Headquarters situated in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have been attacked by armed gunmen.
Candidreporters.com gathered that the attack took place on Monday morning and had detained persons in the station freed. The area was plunged into chaos as residents and officers scampered for safety.
According to reports, operational vehicles were also set ablaze by the hoodlums while some officers sustained bullet wounds.
The spokesperson of the Ebonyi State Police Command, Loveth Odah, confirmed the attack to newsmen. She said the command has sent officers to the affected station.
Candidreporters.com gathered that the attack may not be unconnected to the current unrest in some parts of the southeast following the declaration of a sit-at-home order by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
