ABIA LGA ELECTION: ZLP Wins 15 LGA Seats, YPP Wins 2

The Zenith Labour Party, ZLP has won 15 out of the 17 Local Government Areas in the November 2, 2024 local government election in the state.

The Young Progressives Party, YPP won two LGAs – Ugwunagbo and Osisioma Ngwa.

Prof. Chima George, the Chairman, Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, announced the results on Saturday night at the ABSIEC headquarters, Umuahia.

In his words: “We have fulfilled the duty we were inaugurated on 5th September to carry out. It wasn’t an easy task but we went beyond and above to raise awareness about the election across the state”, he said.
