The Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has fired Mr. Eze Okwulehie, the the General Manager of Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Umuahia.

In a press release by the state the government, the reason for the sack wasn’t stated but candidreporters.com recalls that there has been outcry with the delay in the waste disposal mechanism in the state which Aba, the commercial hub of the state is in a total example of how ASEPA has failed due to heap of refuse sited at major markets which has posed a threat to human health.

The press release reads:

GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has approved the immediate removal from office of Mr. Eze Okwulehie, General Manager, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Umuahia.

To this end, the Governor directs the Secretary to Abia State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem to oversee the activities of the Agency in the interim.

This directive takes immediate effect.
