Abia Community Set to Confer Chieftaincy Title on Joe Ajaero

The traditional heads of Etiti Nkpa autonomous community in Bende local government area of Abia State are set to confer the chieftancy title on Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC).

According to a statement from the traditional heads of Etiti Nkpa, made available to newsmen on Thursday, it holds that Ajaero has earned the Chieftaincy title due to his sterling performance as the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress.

“Comrade Joe Ajaero, has distinguished himself. His passion has always been geared towards championing workers right, even at the expense of his life.

“The conferment of Chieftancy title on the NLC President signifies an appreciation for how far he has led Nigerian workers in the fight for better welfare, working condition and defending the rights of workers. It is an act of honour that is well-deserved for the president of the workers.” The statement reads.

The event is scheduled to hold on 28th December, 2024.

Other notable Nigerians to be honoured during the event are Chief Patrick Ugboaja, a veteran Journalist based in the US; Chief Obinna Nwosu, a renowned Banker & Business man and US based Legal luminary,Chief Taiwo Ugboaja, Esq.

Workers and other dignitaries are also invited to grace the occasion and to give the deserving honour to the NLC president.

Other dignitaries expected to attend the ceremony are, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, the Executive Governor of Abia State; Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Representing Abia North Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives; Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja, Esq. mni, General Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress; Comrade Domique Igwebike, General Secretary of National Union Of Electricity Employees; Dcn Uwabunkonye Bassey, Chairman of Bende LGA; Emmanuel Ndubuisi, member representing Bende South State Constituency and Comrade Emeka Joseph Ugboaja (Eze Elect), the people’s Mayor of Bende, who doubles as the Head of Information, Research and Documentation of National Union Of Electricity Employees.
