Yesterday, history was woven in real time in Akwete.
And the man who gave voice to that history was Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, CON, FCA– industrialist, former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, President of Masters Energy Group, and a true son of Abia. 
Standing calm, confident, and deeply human at the podium in his white Isi-Agu and red cap, before Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti and his dear wife, Dr. Ogah did not just give a speech. He gave us a masterclass in statesmanship, culture, and vision.
Here is the powerful message he delivered, refined for the world:
REVERENCE BEFORE RHETORIC
He began with honor. Honor to the First Lady. Honor to the Working Governor of Abia State. Honor to the dignitaries, to Ndi Abia, and to the crème de la crème of Abia who gathered like never before to welcome a First Lady to Ndoki land for the very first time.
It was humble. It was royal. It was Ogah.
AKWETE IS NOT JUST CLOTH. AKWETE IS IDENTITY.
“We are standing in the land of historical Akwete. The Akwete Kingdom.”
Dr. Ogah reminded the world that Akwete cloth has made a remarkable influence in the lives of people for centuries. This is not fashion. This is heritage. This is technology invented by our mothers, wealth created by our women, art that predates colonization.
His charge was clear: From this visit, Akwete will no longer be local. Akwete will be recognized globally as a national symbol, a symbol of uniform, a symbol of pride, a symbol of Nigeria to the world.
GOOD GOVERNANCE IS A MAGNET
“That is why it is good to have good governance, because it is good governance that has brought the First Lady to see us.”
That one line defined the moment. Dr. Ogah brilliantly connected the dots. After over 24 years of waiting, Abia is finally experiencing something extraordinary. Abia is working. Abia energy has gone beyond normal. And when governance works, the world comes to you. Even the First Lady of Nigeria comes to Akwete.
EMPOWER A WOMAN, EMPOWER A NATION
This was the heart of his speech. The most powerful, human part.
He looked at the thousands of women weavers and said the truth every grassroots leader knows:
Our women are the voters. Our women are the economy. Our women are the family. Our women are the nation.
“Continue to empower our women because they are the focal for the existence of many families. You empower a woman, you empower a nation.”
Dr. Ogah thanked the First Lady of Abia State for helping to discover and bring out the best in Abia women. He assured the First Lady of Nigeria that the joy in the hall was assurance – assurance that when you empower women, your second tenure is already secured by their prayers and their votes.
This is the Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah we know – the man whose interventions in entrepreneurship and financial inclusion have already put funded businesses in the hands of Abia youths and women. 
THE TAKEAWAY: ABIA CAN UPLIFT NIGERIA
Dr. Ogah closed with a prophetic declaration: There is something here in Abia State that can uplift this nation. When you grow Abia economy, you grow Nigeria’s economy.
He thanked everyone for being part of this historical event and left us with one anthem:
ABIA IS WORKING.

Dr. Uche Ogah did not speak as a politician seeking applause. He spoke as a proud son of Akwete, as a father who understands value, as a leader who understands that culture is capital and women are the greatest investment.
It was attractive because it was authentic. Powerful because it was peaceful. Outstanding because it was organized. World-class because it was deeply local.
