Emmanuel Nwokonna, a native of Ofeme, Ohuhu Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State has joined the election race to represent his people in the Abia State House of Assembly.
Emmanuel Nwokonna, has formally indicated interest in the race under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), positioning himself as a fresh alternative ahead of the party’s internal contest.
In campaign materials now circulating, Nwokonna described himself as the “winning choice” for PDP delegates, expressing confidence in his capacity to secure victory for the party in the general election.
The House of Assembly hopeful, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in international marketing, presented himself as a credible and result-driven candidate with experience in business, legislative, and people oriented.
According to the campaign message, Emmanuel Nwokonna is promoting a people-centered representation model focused on infrastructure development, job creation, law to promote workers’ welfare, pension reforms, and structured accountability.
The campaign also highlighted his professional background as a public affairs analyst and business turnaround expert, while emphasizing his long-standing membership in the People’s Democratic Party since 2005.
Nwokonna’s supporters argue that his candidacy offers a departure from what they described as “politics as usual,” presenting him as a fresh face without governance baggage.
Emmanuel Nwokonna is a native of Umuezike Ofeme, Ohuhu, Umuahia North Local Government Area, with maternal roots in Isukwuato Local Government Area, Nwokonna also outlined policy priorities including youth empowerment, industrialization, healthcare, education, agriculture, and security.
His emergence adds another dimension to the evolving political conversations ahead of the 2027 House of Assembly race in Abia State, as political parties begin early positioning and consultations.
