Govern Alex Otti of Abia State joined the family of late Chief Ezeji Michael Irom to pay his last respect as they laid him to rest in his hometown of Nsirimo in Umuahia South LGA.

‎

‎Speaking during the funeral on Friday which was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Nsirimo, Governor Otti disclosed that the Late Chief Ezeji Irom was introduced to him in 2014 by Sen. Nkechi Nworgu alongside Chief Tony Enwereuzor, Chief Ahamdi Nweke, etc who led the fight for the liberation of Abia State in 2015.

‎
‎The Governor described the Late Chief Ezeji Irom as a consistent fellow who always stood for what he believed in.
‎
‎”One thing about Ezeji, as we called him, is that he was a consistent fellow, never lied, never deceived; anywhere he is, that’s where he is.

‎
‎”Anything that doesn’t make sense to him, he will tell you,” the Governor stated.
‎
‎Governor Otti said that it was sad that Ezeji Irom passed on at the age of 72 years but also noted that it was not how long one lives that matters but how well, saying that he lived a good life.
‎
‎He expressed the optimism that on the resurrection morning, when the trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise, we shall meet and rejoice with Ezeji.
‎
‎In his words of comfort, he encouraged the family to take solace and draw strength from the fact that he led a good life and as well, emulate his good legacies.
‎
‎Earlier in his address, the Chief Mourner, Rev. Fr. (Sub. Lieutenant) E.U. Michael thanked Governor Otti for coming. He said that Governor Otti has been a friend of the family since 2015 and had always identified with them in whatever they were doing. He disclosed that Governor Otti supported them when their father was ill and was flown abroad for treatment and supported them as they planned for the burial, among other supports.
‎
‎The funeral attracted the presence of very important personalities including Sen. Darlington Nwokocha, Sen. Nkechi Nworgu, former APGA Candidate, Abia Central Senatorial District, Chief Barr. Ahamdi Nweke, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba Ph.D, and other top Government functionaries.
